Seroquel (quetiapine fumarate) is an atypical antipsychotic medication used to treat major depressive disorder, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. Its main uses are as an antidepressant and mood stabilizer. Seroquel is also approved for treating conditions like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Seroquel works by affecting the receptors in the brain that regulate serotonin levels. This helps relieve symptoms of depression and help improve mood.
Seroquel is used in clinical trials to treat schizophrenia. It is also used to treat major depressive disorder. Doctors typically prescribe it as an antidepressant, although it's also prescribed for bipolar disorder.
Like all medications, Seroquel can cause side effects. Here's a look at the main ones:

Atypical antipsychotic medications are usually prescribed in a number of situations when, in the context of a mental health condition, they might be prescribed in the appropriate situations. However, many people are reluctant to prescribe such medications, and in such cases, they may find it difficult to obtain necessary medical prescriptions for these drugs. There is a growing trend towards the use of antipsychotic medications, particularly in the case of schizophrenia. In fact, antipsychotic medications have been associated with an increased risk of serious psychiatric problems. It is estimated that approximately half of all cases of psychiatric disorders in the United States are in the United States. The use of antipsychotic medications for schizophrenia has been linked to increased risk of cardiovascular events, particularly cardiovascular-related death, as well as increased risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors, such as self-harm.
In the present study, we aimed to assess the use of antipsychotic medications in patients with schizophrenia and provide a systematic review of available literature to help clinicians in the assessment and treatment of these conditions. The aim of this study was to assess the association between antipsychotic medication use and outcomes, as well as to assess the association between the use of antipsychotic medication and the risk of psychiatric problems such as suicide. A secondary objective was to assess whether the association between the use of antipsychotic medication and the risk of psychiatric problems such as suicide was associated with the use of antipsychotic medications in the general population.
The study was approved by the institutional review boards of all participating institutions, and all authors agreed to the written protocol.
The study was conducted in accordance with the ethical principles of the Declaration of Helsinki and the Good Clinical Practice guidelines. This study was conducted in the institutional review boards of the University of the Witwatersrand and the University of Cape Town, Cape Town, South Africa. The institutional review boards approved this study.
The population was a population of patients with schizophrenia who had a history of psychiatric disorders. The diagnosis was made by a psychiatrist using the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision (ICD-10) codes, 10, 18, and 26, for the diagnosis of schizophrenia. The diagnosis was confirmed using a validated diagnostic tool that was used to determine whether a patient had been diagnosed with schizophrenia or not.
This study used the medical records from the clinical trials and the relevant case reports of patients with schizophrenia and the psychiatric records of the general population.
We included the following antipsychotic medications: olanzapine (Zyprexa, Zyprexa; Olanzapine, Zepbound; Abilify, Abilify; Seroquel, Seroquel XR; Seroquel XR-M, Seroquel XR-M, Seroquel XR XR), quetiapine (Seroquel, Seroquel XR-M; Seroquel, Seroquel XR-M; Seroquel XR-M/sulpiride, Seroquel XR-M/sulpiride; Seroquel, Seroquel XR XR-M/sulpiride; Seroquel XR, Seroquel XR XR XR, Seroquel XR XR XR) and risperidone (Risperdal, Risperdal SR, Risperdal SR/rutin, Risperdal SR/rutin SR; Risperdal SR, Risperdal SR/sulpiride, Risperdal SR/sulpiride).
